About Surf Spot
Surfwelle Augsburg
A wave for Augsburg has been approved with a patented concept to build an artificial river wave. This will create a unique leisure facility for water sports enthusiasts such as surfers, kayakers, bodyboarders, and wakeboarders right in the center of Augsburg. The final building permit has been received Mid of 2023. As soon as the financing is in place, the first construction phase at the Senkelbach can begin. By narrowing and redesigning the existing riverbed, the Senkelbach becomes a wave paradise. On a width of 8 meters, a wave will be created, which you can then surf with a surfboard, a bodyboard, a kayak or even with your ironing board. As an artificially created wave, the project offers enormous advantages over randomly created (river) waves:
- Safety through measures such as impact protection zones and fall arrest systems
- With the help of a device you can successfully surf your first wave within 10 minutes as an absolute beginner
- The wave can be individually adapted to all requirement ranges. So both beginners and advanced riders get their money’s worth
- The design not only enables safe and responsible operation but is also environmentally neutral and resource-saving at the same time.
