Surf Spot Guide
Sticks Ahangama
This surf spot is called after the renowned Ahangama Fishermen Sticks and lies right in front of the surf school founded by a local named Rajith. It is a reef break on a sand bottom that offers multiple A-frame peak sections with both lefts and rights. Sticks is perfect for longboarders and all levels of surfers on smaller days. Only more experienced surfers should attempt it when there is a larger swell. The entry point is a bit tricky, either over rocks or jumping in from a little wooden bridge reaching out into the water from the surf school. Sticks works around all tides but is much more powerful around low tide.
