Siargao Islands
Home to one of the top 10 waves in the world and the site of numerous great surfing competitions, Siargao is the unanimous surfing capital of the Philippines and is often considered one of the best surf spots in Asia. The island benefits from 30 km of exposed, wave-swept coastline. There are more than 20 world-class surf spots already “discovered” and frequented by surf travelers – and even more kept secret by locals in the know.
Reef Break
Reef Breaks have the capacity to produce consistent waves, flawlessly rolling in one after another. The coral reef or rocky bottom is where the wave breaks. Since the bottom of a reef break is not likely to vary compared to a beach break, the wave will almost certainly break over the reef in the same way practically every time. The two key elements that affect how waves break over a reef are swell direction and tide.
