Praia dos Pescadores Ericeira
Praia dos Pescadores (Fishermans beach) aka Praia do Peixe is the city beach and fishermen’s harbor in the center of the town of Ericeira.
This spot works on low and mid tide and during large swells, generating surfable waves. If all other surf spots in Ericeira are firing to the max and you still want to surf, this is your best chance. In the summer time this spot ist mostly flat and only surfable during autumn and winter time.
The mellow wave at Praia dos Pescadores can break to the left or right depending on the location of sandbanks and the swell’s direction. It can also happen that the long and straight rock formation in the middle of the beach works like a left hander point break. In that case yo often have to take off straight to the left, right in front of this rock which can be dangerous. The pier on the north side of the beach protects surfers from large waves coming in from the adjacent Praia do Norte.
