Point Break
Bei einem Point Break ragt die Küstenlinie ins Wasser und bildet eine Landzunge. Eine lange, gut geformte Welle, bei der es unwahrscheinlich ist, dass sie sich schließt oder vor sich selbst bricht, entsteht, wenn eine Welle auf eine Landzunge oder einen Pier trifft und beginnt, sich die verlängerte Küstenlinie "hinunterzuschälen". Point Breaks haben in der Regel nur einen take-off-Point und laufen nur in eine Richtung, so dass man sich oftmals einreihen muss, um eine Welle zu erwischen. An diesen speziellen Surfspots überwiegt die Qualität gegenüber der Quantität.
