About Rusty Surfboards
Rusty was born during the mid-80s in San Diego, California. It all started when a group of creative minds came together with a shared passion for creating high-quality, performance-driven surfboards.
In 2006, Rusty moved its global headquarters to the sun-drenched city of Perth, Western Australia, where the brand remains today. It’s here that the team sought new challenges in the form of crafting lifestyle apparel and accessories.
Over 30 years since the brand was founded, Rusty remains independently owned and operated by a small local team, following the path set by their founder, Rusty Preisendorfer. To this day, the global surfboard business is managed from San Diego under Rusty’s design direction, while the brand’s surfboards are shaped in Mona Vale, NSW.
As a brand, Rusty is committed to changing with the tides of trends and technology, while staying true to their surf heritage. Saltwater runs in the blood of both our brand and their team, which is apparent by the dripping wetsuits and towels that hang outside reception most days!
Above all, Rusty’s mission has and will always be to produce the highest quality coastal surf apparel, boards and accessories to customers around the globe.
